The North East Boxing People’s Foundation

The North East Boxing People’s Foundation was created following the success of our first community run around the Quayside, which showed the potential of bringing the region’s boxing community together for something positive.

Our main aim is to get more young people into boxing gyms across the North East and use boxing as a way to make a positive difference in their lives. We plan to work with schools throughout the region, introducing young people to boxing and helping those who are interested find suitable local boxing clubs.

The Foundation will also support disadvantaged young people by helping with boxing kit and equipment, reducing some of the financial barriers that can prevent children from getting involved.

Mental health and mentoring will also play an important role, using boxing clubs, coaches and the wider boxing community to provide positive environments, role models and people young people can turn to.

Ultimately, our goal is simple:

To get more young people through the doors of North East boxing gyms and help them benefit from the sport and the community around it.
